Ecklonia Maxima
Liquid Seaweed
Bio-Stimulants
At the southern tip of Africa, the ocean gives us more than breathtaking views. It provides Ecklonia Maxima, a powerful seaweed species that fuels sustainable farming.

Ecklonia Maxima
Key Benefits Include:
- Enhanced Productivity: Increased crop yields, improved fruit mass, and more vibrant coloration.
- Environmental Resilience: Superior resistance to frost, heat, and abiotic stress.
- Plant Health & Quality: Improved nutrient uptake, faster seed germination, and extended shelf life.
- Natural Protection: A noticeable reduction in pathogen incidents, insect attacks, and nematode infestations.
Our seaweed stems from the coast of the western tip of Africa, along the shorelines from South Africa to Namibia. The very cold Benguela comes to those shores from Antarctica and creates a nutrient rich marine environment, causing the kelp to grow fast and constantly. Kelp is classified as a keystone species, which means, it plays a vital part in forming a thriving ecosystem while being one of the highest sustainable materials from a natural source. It is the largest and fastest-growing marine algae or seaweed, and belongs to the brown algae.
The strength of Ecklonia Maxima is based on the high levels of organic gels within its kelp tissue. In addition to the organic gels, kelp has amazing amounts of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and amino acids.
Each plant attaches itself to the sea bed with a stalk. Some kelps can grow ½ metre a day and can reach 30 meters in length and together they often form a thick kelp ‘forests’. Kelp forests are found in the temperate and polar coastal regions of the world. Kelp is usually harvested at low tide.
- Private-Label Ready:Seamlessly integrate our seaweed-derived products into your brand.
- Certified Excellence:ECOCERT Organic certified and REACH compliant.
- Customisable Formulas: options to add micronutrients for specific crop requirements.
At BOMAR and KELPX we bridge the gap between marine science and organic agriculture. Together with our manufacturing partner KELPX we specialize in premium liquid seaweed bio-stimulants derived from Ecklonia maxima, sustainably harvested from marine concessions along the pristine West Coast of South Africa and the cold waters of the Benguela stream.
Our organic liquid seaweed biostimulant, made right here in South Africa, supports healthier crops, stronger yields, and eco-friendly agriculture practices. By harnessing nature’s own growth enhancer, we’re helping farmers move toward regenerative, future-focused farming solutions.
Efficiency is everything—dilution rates and cost-to-market define success. That’s why KelpX products can set a new standard in organic farming with Ecklonia seaweed biostimulants.
Some options to chose from
KelpX-5: Our flagship concentrate delivering 375 µg IAA per litre and 20% dry matter. It is up to 5x stronger than conventional products, offering unmatched efficiency for logistics and application.
KelpX-12 (natural brown color) & KelpX-13 (green color): Engineered for price-sensitive markets without sacrificing organic quality. These formulations match the appearance, feel, and performance of industry benchmarks like BASF and Kelpak—but at a significantly lower cost-to-market.
Customisable Formulas: options to add micronutrients for specific crop requirements.
